I have spent a lot of time over the years thinking about what I could have, or should have done differently. I’m not going to be one of those people that tell you “I wouldn’t have changed a thing”. I would have absolutely changed things, but I also know that the past is indeed the past and there is not a dang thing we can do about it. I’ve made mistakes and taken loads of wrong turns in my life. I’ve delayed myself and generally kept myself from being happy over the years. Of course not because I wanted to, but because I didn’t know better. I also didn’t have a clear idea of what my future should look like.
I do now. I know exactly where I want to go professionally with my photography. More importantly, I have learned a lot about myself just in the past few years, mostly because of my photography journeys. I still don’t have a clear map of the roads I need to take, but I know which direction to head, and I’ve gotten some decent directions from others to help me in my future travels. Now, to hit the road and see where this new path takes me.
