Over the past couple of years, the area I live in has welcomed a few snowy owls. The first year I heard they were in the area, it was living near downtown Madison on Lake Monona. At the time, I was not able to ever get a good shot of it as it was always just a little out of my reach. Or, it was hiding somewhere when I was there and I never saw it. This one, however, frequently comes close to the trail that winds near where it has made its home. I won’t discuss the location because there are already too many photographers that get far too close.
When photographing wildlife, give them their space. Do what you can to not stress them. Plus, if this gal wanted to, she could do some pretty serious damage to someone. Her talons are huge!
