Ok, had a silly idea that I want to explore a bit and I need your help to do it. As the title of this page suggests, I am looking for people who want to be my assignment editor for the day. Do you have ideas for small photo projects that can be completed in a day? Do you just want to torment me with a challenge? Do you just want to see how I approach something? Are you looking for a photographer, and want to see how I might solve your needs? Well, here is your chance.
Goals:
Ok, the goal of this is to stay simple and fun. Honestly, this is really mostly for me. I want to grow as a photographer, specifically in the space of photojournalism and editorial work. That means I need to work with what my editor or creative director tells me to go get images of.
By you handing me an assignment with the basic (or more…please more) details, I have to go create images to tell that story or create that image. It pushes my creativity farther. It gets me shooting more. I get to have fun with my camera, which honestly I really do.
Rules
Ok, we need to set some ground rules to keep everything happy and useful. Don’t worry, they are pretty simple and honestly commonsense.
- Needs to be something that can be created in a day
- No NSFW stuff. If you wouldn’t show it to all your coworkers or the police, I don’t want to hear it.
- You can’t use this as a free way to get images for your project. If you want to hire me, use this form.
- Just because you submit an idea, doesn’t guarantee that I will use it. I will try to pick as many as I can, but I currently have a FT job, so time is limited at the moment.*
Ok, that is pretty much it. Obviously, I will update this if weird cases come up regularly that need addressing. *Part of this is to help me transition to a full time photographer. To do that I need to get hired/contracted. To get noticed, I need to create content. So… you get the idea.
